The Society has been cataloguing and Indexing the Archive Collection which has been built up over a considerable period. Details of individual items from the synopsis of headings shown below can be obtained by contacting [email protected] [email protected]. It can be seen from the synopsis of items in each box that the details of cataloguing is extremely difficult. Anyone wishing to get more information on individual entries should contact the Society via the website details. Access is free to Members and a nominal fee will be charged for Non.Members.
Continuing during 2019 the History Society have been cataloguing and indexing the extensive and varied collection of archive material which has been collected over many years. It has been a painstaking task but one which will become a resource not only locally but also Essex Records Office and the Recorders of Uttlesford.
At present 21 boxes have been indexed and catalogued with an additional 7 boxes of hard copy Hatfield Heath Magazines. One addition of 1894, 1902, 1912, 1941, 1942, and two for 1913 and 1949. From 1961 up to and including 2019 there is almost a complete set which can be accessed. From the 2006 issue to the present Mark Ratcliff has put all the magazines on the website (hatfieldheathmagazine.weebly.com).
An example of how some of the archives from 18 boxes have been indexed shown below providing a template of how the cataloguing can be made available from many documents containing detailed referenced information.
